Snapdragons
27 March 2004

My classes start again on Monday. I wish they'd give us more than a week off between quarters, but oh well. I just want to get it over with as soon as I can.

I hate accounting. I can't believe I actually chose it as a career choice.

I'm trying to think of landscaping ideas for my back yard. I want to build a retaining wall, have some dirt hauled in, and level some of it off. But then I found out that it would cost about a thousand dollars just for the dirt. I don't have a thousand dollars, and if I did, I wouldn't spend it on dirt. My neighbors have these lavishly landscaped, perfectly manicured yards, and I feel self-concious with my weed-infested, leaf-covered back yard. (The front yard is okay, it's just the back that needs work.) I pulled out some of the weeds and moved most of the fallen tree limbs out of the way, but it still looks bad.

I need money. Lots and lots of money.

I did yogalates yesterday and my ass hurts. Just thought I'd share.

I also planted snapdragons yesterday. Patty sent me some seeds as a house warming gift, along with a bunch of candy and a toy shovel and rake for the kids. I'm not much of a plant person; I seem to kill everything I touch. I did have a basil plant that did quite well. It grew really tall and I thought it was going to turn into that giant people-eating plant from Little Shop of Horrors. "Feed me Seymore!" I had all these plans for using fresh basil in all my cooking, but I never got around to it. Then it died. But anyway, I planted the snapdragons. I don't know what I'm going to do with them after they sprout though. There's really no obvious place in the yard for snapdragons. After them, I have a whole packet of zinnia seeds I have to plant. I don't know when I became a flower person, but apparently, I am one now. It just kind of happened.

I feel like Suzy fucking Homemaker.

Well, I best be going. Ray is going to fix my laptop today because the buttons are falling off and it has a very obnoxious Trojan horse that makes it difficult to surf the web. I probably won't be writing for a few days, so later.
